The IC697MDL350 module is a discrete output module manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of the 90-70 series. It operates at a voltage of 120 volts AC and has a current capacity of 0.5 amps at each of 32 output points, which are isolated into 4 groups of 8 points each. The module has a high surge capacity of about 20 times the rated current. It allows each 8-point group to be used on different AC power supply phases. Each output group is blown by a fuse rated at 5 amps, which shows the inrush current, making the output suitable for a variety of inductive loads. The IC697MDL350 output module has an LED indicator to indicate the on/off status of each output point on the PLC side of the circuit. It also has an LED that shows the status of the fuse at the top of the module.
The GE Fanuc IC697MDL350 output module is mechanically keyed to enhance the replacement process by using the same type of module for replacement. Users of this module can perform configuration functions for I/O reference without the need for jumpers or DIP switches. Configuration is done via MS-DOS or Windows programming software that runs on Windows 95 or Windows NT operating systems via SNP ports or Ethernet TCP/IP ports. This configuration feature is pre-installed on the device used for programming. The IC697MDL350 output module is well matched to many load devices, such as indicators, solenids and motor starters. The 0.5 amp current rating applies to the long-term current value at each point. Since the module has a heat dissipation function, the total current of each output group is limited at high temperatures.
