The IC660BBD021 is an I/O Block module that is part of the Genius I/O Block family. The module primarily has sixteen (16) IO circuits, each of which can be configured as input, three-state input, and discrete output channels. The module consists of two (2) components, in particular an electronic component assembly with catalog number IC660EBD021 and a terminal base assembly with catalog number IC660TSD021. The module was previously manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation and is currently owned by Emerson Automation. It is designed as a standalone device, used as a distributed IO station, and counts as a single node in the Genius I/O bus network. It has a built-in Genius bus terminal for connecting to the existing Genius I/O network, which is also used for Daisy chaining to other devices that support Block I/O or Genius. It also provides a port for communicating with handheld terminals (HHM), allowing for local monitoring. Input channel features include on-voltage of 0-8 VDC at 24 VDC and 0-16 VDC at 48 VDC, while 17-24 VDC at 24 VDC and 34-48 VDC at 48 VDC. The input processing time of the module is 1.7 ms, and the selected input filter causes additional delays. Output characteristics include a maximum steady-state output current of 2 amps per circuit, a maximum surge current of 10 amps, and a duration of 10 milliseconds. When installed at an operating temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, the total output current of this I/O block does not exceed 35 amps. The maximum switching frequency of the output circuit is once per second, and the on-delay time is 1 ms.

The GE IC660BBD021 I/O module is an I/O module with 16 circuits. It is a perfusion I/O module powered by 24 to 48 volts DC. This module can be used as an Input, Tristate Input, or Output module. It is fully compatible with 3-wire sensors. This I/O module variant does not require a separate power module. The I/O module is capable of communicating with 3-wire solid-state sensors and electromechanical sensors. The module is manufactured in a compact size of 8.83 inches high, 3.56 inches wide and 4.42 inches deep. It weighs about four pounds. The front of the module has 16 circuits with individual load side indicators. They light up when connected to that particular circuit. The IC660BBD021 I/O module can be easily connected to a handheld display by using the monitoring port on the upper part of the module. The GE IC660BBD021 I/O block is considered an open device and should be installed in a protective housing. The installation area should be clean and free of dust and dirt. The module uses a convection cooling method to maintain its ambient operating temperature and should always have proper airflow. The IC660BBD021 I/O module has diagnostic and protection functions, including electronic short-circuit protection, overload and overheat detection, and fault switch and no-load detection. The IC660BBD021 I/O module has serial ports 1 and 2 as well as an expansion board input port and an expansion board output port. Two LED indicators, called the I/O Enabled and Unit OK indicators, are located on the front of the block. The block used to block the voltage rating is 1500 volts. The power loss time is 10 milliseconds.
